Ralph was for many years an active minister in the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. In this capacity he served three congregations: Zion Lutheran in Canton, OH; Holy Trinity Lutheran, Brunswick, OH; and St. Mark’s Lutheran, Van Wert, OH.

He is a graduate of Thiel College in Greenville, PA, and Hamma School of Theology of Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, OH.

In 1983 while in Van Wert, Ralph was invited to join the Van Wert Rotary Club. Now retired and relocated, he is a member of the Port Clinton Rotary Club. He served the Van Wert club as president in 1993-94 and has been active on many committees and involved in various club projects. In the past three years, he has served District 6600 as Assistant Governor and a member of the district’s Executive Committee. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Sustaining Member.

Ralph’s wife, Pat, is a retired Academic Dean of Lutheran College, Fort Wayne, IN. They live in Port Clinton where they serve on community and church boards. The couple has four daughters, nine grand children and one great-grandchild.
