Jim is a graduate of Wapakoneta Blume High School, Ohio University (B.S. in Mechanical Engineering) and an MBA from O.S.U. Jim has been a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio since 1967.

He married Janice (Jan), in 1961. She has a BS in Home Economics from Ohio University and taught school in Celina and Frankfort. In 2000, she graduated from United Theological Seminary with Master of Theological Studies degree. She retired in 2004, from the Wayne Street United Methodist Church where she was Church Visitation Pastor.

Jim recently retired from St. Marys Hardware, where he served twenty years as President and CEO.

An active St. Marys Rotarian since 1968, Jim has served two terms on the Board of Directors and was Club President in 1986-1987.

At the district level, Jim has served as Assistant Governor, District Chairman of Community Service, District Grant Subcommittee Chairman and as MESA Treasurer.

He and Jan have attended the UNIENDO America Project Fairs in Central America eight years in a row. Jim has attended two Rotary International Conventions, was honored as St. Marys Rotarian of the Year and has been awarded The Rotary Four Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians. He is a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation.

Jim and Jan have spent their adult lives in St. Marys where they have been active in community and church activities. They two grown children, Sharon and Steve.
