Jim Shrader and his wife, Sue of 48 years, have lived in Findlay since 1943. Early in 2002, he sold his business which he served as its president, Findlay International, Inc. He was not ready to retire and is presently working for his good friend selling cars at Findlay Ford, Lincoln and Mercury.

Mr. Shrader graduated from Findlay High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Bowling Green State University. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Jim served in the United States Army at Fort Sill and Fort Knox, and was active in the reserves and attained the rank of Captain.

Jim takes an active part in community affairs serving on the board in various capacities at Birchhaven Continuing Care service board since 1965. He also is a member of the Blanchard Valley Health Association board. A member of the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce board he served as its president in 1997. He is a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee. He also has helped and chaired school committees and campaign levies.

A Rotarian since 1967, Jim is a member of the Findlay Rotary Club and past president in the years 1985-86. Since becoming a member, he has served on different committees, the last ten years as chairman of the Rotary Information Committee. He has served at the District level as representative for Governors and on the Membership Development and Retention Committee at present, and is very involved in carrying the M.E.S.A. story to the many clubs in District 6600. Jim has recently become active at the Zone level as a membership coordinator for Zone 28 working with several districts on Membership, Membership Retention and New Club Development. Zone 28 coordinator for PolioPlus, we must finish this job!

Jim and his wife have three children-Christopher, in Carmel, Indiana, with Bank One; Jeffrey, with Fifth Third in Findlay, and Carolyn, director of Marketing and Development for Birchaugn Village. Each is married and they have blessed them with six grandsons.
